Sentido y traducción. La traducción desde el punto de vista de la producción de sentido
Synopsis
This paper explores the contrast between two different conceptions of linguistic translation: idealized or representative translation, and actual or as is translation. In order to do so, we take the viewpoint of the production of sense (sense- making) and a higher-order concept of translation as the process of the expression of the sense of experience. Here, we will first understand translation as the process where (de)codifying of sense happens. Then we will explore how this process is expressed in the concrete case of linguistic translation, how both conceptions can be understood from the point of view of sense-making, their interrelations and the impossibility of dismissing either of them without denying the qualities of the experience of sense.
