When I started my university studies at the University of Bucharest, I wanted to return home to Brăila as a high school teacher or to get a job in the Brașov school network. But at the University I was lucky to have exceptional professors, who opened my way to research in comparative Romance linguistics and to an academic career. I also became a translator from Spanish completely by accident. The story of this alternative activity follows in the pages below.
