"Information-rich" users of the informational behavior of current users

The paper proposes an empirical research of the informational behavior of the current users of the "Carol I" Central University Library Bucharest. The target audience is part of the "heavy category" of using info documentary services – students who are in the habit of visiting the library, who do not lack an appetite for reading and have information search skills, at least at a basic level. I generically called them "information rich", taking the phrase from Elfreda Richman, one of the most prominent figures in the field of LIS, with regard to studies of human information behavior in the '80s.
We will also talk about non-users – as they represent the real challenge for university libraries, for which must design their services and develop attractive programs to enrich them informationally.
The study is intended to be more than potentially useful for librarians or for researchers in the field of library and information science – it is intended to be an impetus, a starting point in carrying out large-scale studies regarding users' information behavior, but especially of potential users, in a constantly expanding digital environment.
