EL “HIJO-HUÉRFANO-DETECTIVE” Y EL “JARDÍN-PATRIA”. (¿NUEVAS?) CONSTRUCCIONES FICCIONALES ANTE LA DESMEMORIA EN MUESTRAS DE NARRATIVA CHILENA CONTEMPORÁNEA
Synopsis
A diachronic approach is proposed to read the historical (re)vision contents present in two Chilean novels published between 2014 and 2017, in order to test whether—and to what extent—contemporary national fiction texts maintain elements of continuity with the historical-ideological constructions of the regime years and those immediately following. First, the paper will reflect on the changes observed today in the representational strategies of the historical motif of the dictatorship. Given the clear quantitative decrease in narrative works that once functioned as indispensable testimonial fictions, attention shifts toward the type of approach chosen by contemporary narrators to avoid the risk of forgetting while remaining present in historical, political, and social fields.
