POLÍTICA DEL INSOMNIO Y POSTHUMANISMO EN “CIUDAD SIN SUEÑO (NOCTURNO DEL BROOKLYN BRIDGE)”, DE FEDERICO GARCÍA LORCA

This work proposes a close reading of “Ciudad sin sueño (Nocturno del Brooklyn Bridge),” which belongs to the third section of Poeta en Nueva York. It is relevant to demonstrate how García Lorca does not offer a single perspective on sleep or insomnia. While initially presenting a world that can neither rest nor die (the eternal sleep), wakefulness later takes on positive connotations, as it becomes associated with commitment and solidarity. The study also explains that it is possible to detect a posthumanist approach in its anti-anthropocentric variant: the animal is not seen as the human being's “metaphysical other,” but rather as their extension, thereby breaking down the boundaries that separate nature and culture.
