Singur cu cititoarea: imaginea receptării în romanul lui Italo Calvino Dacă într-o noapte de iarnă un călător

This study examines the interplay between narrative instances in a novel where the Writer, the Translator, and the Reader become characters whose relationships unfold as a love triangle. Starting from the Writer’s desire to remove the Translator in order to remain alone with the Reader, the article explores the dynamics among these narrative figures and the ways in which the protagonists of the embedded narratives shape and reinterpret the relationships within the framing story. Particular attention is given to the inversion of the conventional relationship between writing and reading, as the Writer constructs the text in response to the Reader’s reactions rather than preceding them. The study investigates this specular relationship between creation and reception, emphasizing the intimate interaction between author and reader while examining the significance of resisting the material realization of this connection.
