Interactive fiction video games: narațiuni citite cu mouse-ul și tastatura
Synopsis
This article examines Zork, the pioneering interactive fiction game created in 1980 by two students at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), as a landmark in the development of narrative-driven video games. It argues that Zork transformed the relationship between player and text by introducing interactive storytelling based on choice, exploration, and textual interpretation. Through an analysis of its narrative structure and gameplay mechanics, the study highlights the convergence of literary and technological elements, demonstrating how Zork laid the foundations for modern video games that combine immersive storytelling with interactive digital environments.
