MACEDOROMÂNII DOBROGENI
Rezumat
An important moment was recorded on June 13, 1925, when the Romanian government, led by Ion I.C. Brătianu, approved – at the request of a delegation of Macedo-Romanians from Greek Macedonia – the establishment of 1,500 families in the Cadrilater, a territory that, at that time, was part of Romania. On October 26, 1925, on the feast of Saint Demetrius (a day of special significance for the Aromanian shepherds, related to the descent of the flocks into winter), the first settlers disembarked in the port of Constanta, arriving by ship "Iași".
A guarantor of the Romanian identity of these settlers was the Macedonian-Romanian Culture Society (Societatea de Cultură Macedo-Română), which issued them certificates of belonging to the Romanian nationality.
