Competențe infodocumentare valorificabile extra muros bibliothecae
Rezumat
The study examines the relevance and usefulness of information and documentation skills acquired through undergraduate (Information and Documentations Sciences – IDS) and master (Information Management in Contemporary Society – IMCS) programs at the Faculty of Letters, University of Bucharest, for graduates not working in libraries or other information and documentation institutions. Using a survey, the research highlights the extent to which skills such as information retrieval and evaluation, document organization, and ethical information use have been applicable in respondents' current or previous non-library settings. The findings indicate that, according to the respondents, IDS and IMCS programs significantly contribute to the development of transferable skills relevant across various professional fields, broadening graduates' career opportunities. The study provides insights for curricular improvement and enhancing the attractiveness of these programs.
