Servicii de bibliotecă în sprijinul cercetării și publicării științifice

Practices for publishing and communicating research findings are constantly changing and the universities' interest in improving scientific visibility and impact is more evident than ever. At the same time, information technology is everywhere and is developing at an accelerating pace. The university library is always asking itself how to act to meet academic community's demands or what are the solutions to support scientific research within the university. That is why the concerns of professors, researchers and university management turned into the library's concerns.
Based on a brief comparative analysis of research services provided by the world's leading university libraries, this paper examines the case of a Romanian university library. As partner in different projects of the university, the library has developed innovative support services in bibliometrics, bibliographic reference management and scholarly publishing. University librarians have discovered and exploited various modern software tools that they have subsequently adopted in their portfolio, creating more opportunities to interact with professors on research collaboration.
