Rezumat

Celebration of Loneliness by bulgarian playwright Katerina Georgieva is a contemporary play that examines the complexity of solitude through the fragmented voices of five female characters. Structured as a polyphonic sequence of overlapping dialogues, the text captures the rhythm of modern life, where communication is often superficial and mediated by technology, yet deeply charged with emotional need. Through everyday conversations,
confessions, and absurd situations, the play reveals the characters’ struggles with love, identity, and the fear of disconnection. Blending humor, irony, and poetic reflection, Georgieva’s play reinterprets loneliness not only as a source of anxiety, but also as a space for self-discovery and personal freedom, ultimately suggesting that solitude can be a form of empowerment.
