Text original vs. traducere: topica pronumelor clitice în două tipuri de texte de secol XVI
Rezumat
This study offers a detailed analysis of the syntax of pronominal clitics in two early Old Romanian text types dating from approximately the same period—the collection Documente și însemnări (Documents and Notes) and the Codicele Popii Bratu (Popa Bratu’s Codex). Its primary aim is to identify the syntactic differences between original texts and translations with regard to the placement of clitic pronouns, focusing on their position within the verbal complex. The analysis examines clitic placement in relation to sentence structure, considering several parameters: the morphological class of the clitic host (verbs in synthetic and analytic tenses, pronouns, nouns, adverbs, and conjunctions); the position of clitics relative to the lexical verb (proclisis and enclisis), including verb/auxiliary–clitic inversion; the rare phenomenon of clitic doubling in sixteenth-century Romanian; the position of clitics with respect to the negative marker nu and the clitic adverb mai; and the ordering of dative and accusative clitic clusters, a predominant feature of sixteenth-century Romanian in both enclitic and proclitic constructions involving personal and reflexive pronouns.
