MAGIE ȘI IDEALISM ÎN ROMANUL LUMINA CE SE STINGE...
Synopsis
The novel Lumina ce se stinge, without having a special literary value, still retains a documentary and ideational value, as it attests the concerns of the young Eliade in those years, his inclination towards the magical dimension of the religious experience. In the content of the article I will analyze the meanings of this core of the thinking of the "first" Eliade, the one from which developed his subsequent research dedicated to alchemy, cosmology, hermeticism, demonology, etc., but also his organic vision of life/reality, expressed especially in his fantastic writings. Having some common elements with the short stories written in his mature years, the novel published in 1934 is also important because it illustrates his interest in a certain philosophy, oscillating between pragmatism, magical idealism and existentialist authenticity.
