Topografii în planul simbolic: Cristian Popescu și tranzițiile liminale
Rezumat
This paper analyses Cristian Popescu's poetry through the concept of "communicating vessels": the socio-political context of the last communist decade and the transition to democracy, the artistic environment of the Universitas group, as well as the two characteristics of his volumes – theatricality and performativity. Following an initial censorship, Popescu first assumes his poetry as a circle act, with a clear libertarian dimension. The Popescu Family and The Popescu Art form a poetic
diptych that oscillates between biographical and biobibliographical. Kitsch, as a defining element of his poetry, not only reflects an aesthetic of boisterousness and spectacle, but also accounts for a society marked by pauperization and absurdity, which seeks various means of balance or escapism.
