Actualizarea competențelor specialiștilor din domeniul informării în Anul European al Abilităților, un cadru stimulator pentru a răspunde necesităților viitorului

The year 2023 is considered the European Year of Skills, a time to focus attention on the foundation of sustainable growth in connection with a highly skilled workforce. What is being pursued is a digital transition with the aim of achieving the targets of the Action Plan on the European Pillar of Social Right, which is harmonized with the UN 2030 Agenda. The first principle out of the 20 of the European Pillar is Education, vocational training and lifelong learning, which is part of the first objective called Equal opportunities and access to the labor market. One of the principles supporting the implementation of the Pillar, refers to Competences and equality where the point of interest for the specialists in the field of information and documentation sciences is embodied in the Digital Education Action Plan 2021–2027: Resetting Education and Training for the Digital Age, a policy aimed at providing access to high-quality digital education. This study seeks to position the context of the trainers' efforts, either teaching staff or social or institutional actors in complementarity with the university environment. Particular attention will be given to the details of a potential new profile of the specialist in information and documentation sciences. This profile will include the skills characteristics identified in current work as well as those that re-skilling trends are shaping. Some necessary qualifications in the context of modern techniques and technologies will be investigated: data management, the transformation of bibliographic records into Semantic Web entities, the management of research resources with the full suite of necessary skills, as well as the requirements of digital preservation, all of which must be reflected in specific competencies.
