Generații de aur ale Facultății de litere a Universității din București în slujba Bibliotecii Academiei Române
Rezumat
Celebrating the 160th anniversary of the Faculty of Letters at the University of Bucharest, this paper highlights the contributions of its distinguished professors and students who played a vital role in Romanian academic and cultural heritage. It particularly focuses on three philologists – Gheorghe Cardaș, Dimitrie Caracostea, and Remus Caracaș – who, in addition to their academic achievements, significantly contributed to bibliographic research and the development of Romanian Academy Library. Their careers, deeply intertwined with the legacy of Ioan Bianu, exemplify dedication to literary studies, bibliography, and national cultural preservation. The paper also sheds light on their professional journeys, bibliographic work, and the historical context of their contributions. Despite political adversities, including imprisonment and censorship during the communist era, their scholarly efforts remain fundamental to the field of Romanian bibliographic studies.
