Rezumat

Reinterpreting the ancient myth of Medea, in a tone of documentary reportage, the play Medea, My Mother tells the story of three women who end up abandoning or even killing their children. The journey of such a child, adopted by a couple from the West, paralleled by the playwright with the tragic story of Medea and the ancient myth of the search for the Golden Fleece triggers a true clash of cultures. Civilized Europe meets the world of nomads from the Balkans – vital, cruel, seductive, equally guilty and innocent. Among the main themes addressed in the play, we mention the condition of women, motherhood, betrayal and humiliation, destruction as a form of freedom or despair.
