Entre l’ancien et le nouveau régime du postcommunisme : continuités, fractures, accélérations
Rezumat
This study analyzes the construction of Romania's post-communist political regime, oscillating between "exceptionalism" and "continuity." Unlike its neighbors, Romania experienced a violent transition, leading to a hybrid regime that maintained significant structural and elite ties to the old communist apparatus. The author explores this through political, historical, and constitutional lenses, highlighting the paradoxes of the 1991 Constitution. Ultimately, the research emphasizes how the persistence of old elites and institutional ambiguities continues to shape Romania’s democratic path.
